This patent pending surveillance product has been engineered to dominate security monitoring applications that require the fusion of multiple video sources. Video Fusion System
The Video Fusion System consists of three core components: the camera, video server, and management software.
Fusion HD Camera
A high resolution, "brick-style" camera that utilizes a CMOS image sensor with 2560 x 1920 pixel resolution, delivering superior quality images up to 5 MegaPixels at 10 frames per second. Each camera produces four independent video streams from the sensor, two of which can be configured by the customer for different regions of interest, frame rates, and zoom resolutions.
Video Fusion Server
The video server collects, manages, and synchronizes the information from all Fusion cameras connected to it. Multiple users can connect to the server for streaming video or playback simultaneously. The connections are controlled by the management software enabling customizable levels of access. Each server is a 4U rack mount industrial class server maximizing the Fusion capabilities while enabling supreme management and utilizing commercial standard components. The server allows the connection of up to 64 cameras (the highest density in the market today) using ordinary Cat-5e or Cat-6 cables. Each server can be connected directly to an existing network using the Ethernet ports supplied as part of the system host board. In addition to managing all of the cameras connected to it, the server also provides storage. A 12-slot RAID direct attached storage unit (up to 12 terabytes per storage) connects to the server enabling data to be written at over 300 megabytes per second - 7x faster than competing per channel systems.
Video Management Software
Pixel's management software has two core modules; the administration module and the viewing client. The viewing client is installed on customer workstations and enables viewing of the video in user-configurable screen layouts. In addition, video can be requested for review, tagged, and saved to any media device. The administration module is installed on the customer administration workstation and controls the configuration of the server as well as the Fusion HD cameras connected to it. In addition to controlling the system, the administration module offers remote upgrades, user access control, scheduling controls, system health monitoring, performance monitoring, and audit logs.
Pixel Velocity's product is based on a cost effective open architecture, aimed at easing market adoption by making it compatible with existing video systems. Addressing the needs of a wide range of customers, the system can scale from a few cameras to many thousands. The product also has three features designed to address customer infrastructure constraints that can make the migration from analog to high resolution digital video difficult:
- Analog Video Input Cards
- Backward Compatibility—Allows the customer to use previously purchased analog cameras in areas where high-resolution video is not required.
- Direct Attached Storage
- High Quality Local Storage—Customers can store video at the edge of the network, thus preserving the quality of video data despite bandwidth constraints over the rest of the network.
- Independent Video Streams
- Multiple Video Streams from a Single Camera—Customers can specify different video streams for multiple purposes, all from a single camera. This includes a locally stored high-resolution overview for detailed analysis, a matching low-resolution overview for remote viewing minimizing bandwidth usage, and uncompressed local regions of interest for performing reliable automated analysis, such as a doorway or bank teller's cash drawer.
In addition to assisting with migration to digital technology, Pixel's product offers a pathway of migration for true scalability. Unlike every other product in the market that simply chains together passive cameras, Pixel's cameras are intelligently linked together and share information. This novel system delivers the ability to merge high-resolution video streams to raise the performance bar for automatic analysis.
